General Information
Toy Schnauzers are energetic, intelligent, loving and loyal dogs. They are meant to be kept inside as pets and, although they need regular exercise, they are not equipped to deal with living outside 100% of the time. While it is true that Schnauzers are less allergenic than most breeds because they shed minimally (therefore they produce less dander--the actual allergen), there is no such thing as a 100% hypoallergenic dog breed. If you or members of your household have allergies to dogs, please spend some time with my dogs or someone in your area that owns Schnauzers before deciding to buy one. There are many things to consider when buying a dog; if you are unfamiliar with Toy or Miniature Schnauzers, please educate yourself about the specifics of the breed before committing to buy one... or call me ~ I will be happy to discuss it with you.
All of my dogs and puppies are AKC registered. Please know that AKC registration is not a guarantee of any kind; if a puppy is AKC registered/registrable, it simply means the sire and dam are registered dogs...it is your responsibility as a buyer to get to know the breeder, look at their dogs, and judge for yourself if the dogs they are producing are the quality/type you are seeking. Any breeder promising they can get you AKC registration for a puppy whose Sire and Dam are not both AKC registered is lying--plain and simple. Log on to www.akc.org for more information.
My dogs are house-trained and live inside with me 100% of the time (except potty-time and outdoor play-time, of course). They watch TV on the couch with me and my family, they sleep in my bed (and usually monopolize it), they play with my kids, and have the run of the house. All my puppies are raised in my home--in the midst of everything--not closed off in some storage room or garage. Because they are raised in my home, my puppies are accustomed to everyday sounds and occurrences such as ringing doorbells, running vacuums, children playing (and bickering!), the TV & radio, etc. My puppies are very well-socialized from an early age, and are treated with kindness, affection, attention, and POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT.

PRICES
Prices are based on coat quality, color, and estimated size at maturity. No breeder can guarantee the adult size of any puppy with 100% accuracy... I make estimations based on the size of the sire and dam, the size of other recent dogs in the puppy's pedigree and the puppy's current rate of growth. I don't use a puppy's size or weight to help determine their adult size until they have been fully weaned and are about 8 weeks old and their features are more developed and defined.
*Seller reserves the right of refusal of sale of any puppy to any person(s) for any reason.*
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Included in the price of a puppy are the following: a two-year Health Guarantee, age-appropriate de-worming and vaccinations*, a Puppy Care Kit containing: puppy collar, bed or blanket, several toys, all-natural chewies (no rawhide), copies of health history, receipts & records, a free sample dose of Heartgard-Plus chewable monthly heartworm protection, samples of favorite treats and holistic puppy food (Chicken Soup For the Pet Lovers Soul - Puppy Formula), and AKC Registration paperwork which must be completed by the new owner [AKC Registration papers will be supplied once proof of Spay/Neuter has been furnished--as per the details and requirements of the Spay/Neuter Contract.] If the pup is to be shipped via airline, an airline-approved pet crate/kennel will be provided and is included in the shipping price. Out-of-state buyers will receive their Puppy Care Kit via USPS Priority Mail prior to receiving their puppy so they will have all the necessary supplies and documents on hand for when the puppy arrives. *All dew-claw removal, tail-docking, examinations, vaccines, and micro-chipping (if applicable) will be performed and administered by a licensed veterinarian.
I only use and recommend holistic pet foods (not all brands are created equal). If you would like more information on holistic puppy and dog food, please feel free to inquire. Additionally, if you decide to change your puppy's food to another brand, please do so very gradually over a period of 3 to 4 weeks in order to avoid undue stress and undesirable intestinal side-effects such as excessive gas and diarrhea.

Once you have decided to buy a puppy or place a deposit on a puppy, the following information will be helpful and necessary, so please read all of it:
First and foremost, I ask anyone placing a deposit to please consider doing so very carefully. Sending a deposit is considered a commitment to complete the sale/transaction once the puppy reaches 8 weeks of age. Deposits are only refundable in the unexpected event that a puppy dies or develops a serious health condition or defect. Any/all unpaid balance, fees, and shipping or delivery charges are to be paid on or prior to the date the puppy turns eight (8) weeks old. No exceptions.
♦ PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO SENDING A DEPOSIT OR PAYMENT FOR ANY PUPPY ♦
GOING HOME
Puppies will not be released before the age of eight weeks. NO EXCEPTIONS. Although puppies are usually weaned by six-weeks of age, they are not ready to leave the mother just yet. Between the ages of 6 and 8 weeks, a puppy goes through a crucial developmental and learning period. It will learn many social and behavioral skills from his mother and litter-mates that cannot be replicated by a human owner or trainer. Additionally, puppies under eight weeks of age have immature immune systems (even if they have received vaccines) that are not yet equipped to deal with many of the things they will encounter in the outside world. Please also note that tiny teacup puppies may not be released from my care until they have reached a minimum of 2 pounds.
SOCIALIZATION
Temperament and Confirmation go hand-in-hand when evaluating the quality of a dog. Some aspects of a dog's temperament are inherent, such as his propensity to be a lap-dog or a guard-dog, while some aspects are learned through conditioning, such whether he is fearful or accepting of new things and situations...whether Nature or Nurture, a dog's attitude will affect it's overall behavior. Proper socialization is an integral part of establishing confidence, trust and loyalty in a young dog. What a puppy learns and experiences in the first few weeks of life will have a lasting affect on how he views, understands, and reacts to the world around him. I make it my Number-One priority to ensure all the puppies I whelp, raise, and sell are given the best possible start in life, from nutrition and medical care, to training and socialization.
POTTY TRAINING *If you are a first time puppy buyer or would like additional information on how to properly Crate-Train your puppy, please ask for more information...I am happy to help! Crate-Training coincides with and builds upon a dog’s natural instinct to keep his "den" clean, and crate-training has an exceptionally high success rate when employed properly and reinforced with appropriate, positive training methods. At eight weeks of age, your puppy will already understand the "basics" of potty-training due to his natural instincts, but it is up to you, the new owner, to keep your puppy on a proper schedule and routinely reinforce his natural tendencies and reward him for good behavior. According to the Humane Society of the United States and many other dog rescue groups--both pure-bred and mixed-breed alike, one of the most commonly reported reasons for owners abandoning or surrendering their pets is behavioral problems such as being un-housebroken. Whatever potty-training/housebreaking method you choose to employ, please have a clear idea of what to do and how to do it. Consistency is key! However, if you get confused, overwhelmed or frustrated, please contact me ~ I am always happy to help...and if I don't know the answer, I will find out from someone who does, or get you in touch will someone who can.
